Lovely Melbourne!
Alex had to go away on business, so I decided to head to Melbourne. My sister and her boyfriend live there, and they took such good care of me.
Let's see what I've been up to!
After-work drinks in Richmond are a must. Here I just gave the book 'Oryx and Crake' by Margaret Atwood to my sister who hasn't read it. I love a good dystopian, so I obviously love that book.
My alone time was mostly spent like this: coding at random cafes across town. In this picture I'm sitting at The Herbert Cafe in Northcote, waiting for my sister to join me for lunch.
After lunch she showed me her office which may be the cutest house in Melbourne.
Lovely baby clothes! If you're expecting a little one, you should place your order now.
Fitzroy garden on one of my morning walks. Hot in the sun, cold in the shade. I was constantly undressing or putting something on this morning.
Walking the cool streets of Collingwood.
One afternoon my sister showed me a bar. Super cute, but we ended up on the rooftop instead.
She took me on the tram to St. Kilda, which is the seaside part of Melbourne.
I was happy to smell the ocean again.
We also did some walking in the Botanical Garden, or the Tan as the locals call it.
When the weekend arrived I had booked us a pottery workshop at Terrapotter Studios. It was amazingly fun, and now both my sister and I are thinking about where to put a kiln in our homes.
A few of these are mine! Some part I think was a bit easier for me as a former baker, but other parts were really difficult. Without the instructor's help, I don't think I would have had any finished pieces.
Now time and extreme heat will do its thing, and then in a few weeks my sister will enjoy her coffee from my cups. Isn't that cool!
A few evenings were spent at their home, enjoying lovely food. I reveled in being cooked for, which never happens at home, so I was very happy.
We also played Monopoly Deals, which is a super fun game and always stirs up emotions.
But now I wave goodbye to Melbourne, Zenobia, and John as I fly away to another place. Thanks for everything – you're the best!
