Da Nang Hi!
I was happy and super ready to leave Phuket last week. I recommend that you do your research better than I did if you're going there. If you want 100% peace and quiet with nothing happening, I recommend the Mai Khao area where we lived, but it wasn't really what I wanted or needed for a full month.
Anyway, we made the short flight to Da Nang and I really like it here so far. These past 2 days have been enjoyable and delicious.
The city is very lush with nice greenery around. It's Vietnam's third-biggest city, but it doesn't feel stressed and, at least in our area, there is not too much traffic.
We've been doing a lot of walking around, which is actually possible here, unlike Phuket where it was simply too hot for that.
Some local art.
I found a very hipster coffee place called XLIII Specialty Coffee, but I really love those kinds of places, so I was super happy. They even have decaf coffee, so I indulged. And a tiramisu and a canelé to go with it.
Sitting around and coding for hours is just more enjoyable when you're surrounded by tasty smells and tastes.
There's very detailed information on how to make your cup. I approve of the level of nerdiness here!
The beach. Not as much paradise vibes as Mai Khao, but it's always nice to stick my feet in the sand for a while. There are red flags all along the beach though, so no swimming today.
I found locally made, high-quality chocolate—bean to bar and all—in a nearby shop. That made me very happy! I actually finished them all already, so guess where I'm going tomorrow...
